Travel in a valley sheltered from the trappings of modernity, shielded from outside influences, where village life is dominated by a deep devotion to pure Tibetan Buddhism. Walk in the shadow of Ganesh Himal, where few people have ventured.
This is a unique trek in this amazing valley; a piece of Tibet in the depths of Nepal. The people of Tsum Valley have been sheltered from the outside world, leaving them practically untouched by modernity and hence have maintained their pure heritage of Tibetan Buddhism.
Many lamas were reincarnated here and thus the Tsum valley became a sacred place for Buddhists. Under the shadow of Ganesh Himal (7,400m), lie villages, monasteries, barley fields, and herds of horses and yaks roaming free.

This Tsum valley trek lets you explore a still-confidential Nepal at the gates of Tibet.
Here, Buddhist values shape daily life. The valley is a major spiritual centre: Tibetan masters meditated here, centuries-old gompas perpetuate ancient teachings and villagers greet you with kindness. You will meet the monks of Mu Gompa and Rachen nunnery, as well as children in saffron robes studying sacred texts. Each encounter is a plunge into a world imbued with peace and wisdom.
The route passes superb dry-stone hamlets, terraced barley fields and vast pastures where yaks and horses graze. This pastoral life, still shaped by the seasons, forms a mountain way of life that you discover while walking at your own pace. As you climb towards the high pastures of upper Tsum, silence, herds and snowy summits create a deeply peaceful world.
Throughout the trek, spectacular views of Manaslu (8,163 m) and Ganesh Himal (7,422 m) punctuate the path. These Himalayan giants reveal themselves day after day, often in changing light and beneath fluttering prayer flags. This immersive journey harmoniously combines raw nature, Tibetan culture and vast open spaces for an unforgettable escape.
