Flying directly to Lukla, the Gateway to Everest in the Khumbu region, is quite a start. A spectacular 45-minute flight over the giant Himalayan peaks, and you’re good to go. The adventure of a lifetime begins here as you start your trek. The first destination of note is Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), a trading settlement between Tibet and Nepal. An overnight halt here ensures you get properly acclimatised. Then we enter the Khumbu Valley, into the realm of giant, icy peaks glittering in the sun. Along the way, we come across villages with typical dry-stone houses, numerous inscribed stones (manis), stupas and monasteries perched on hilltops that seemingly touch the skies. The sight of countless towering peaks is beyond one’s imagination: Everest (8,848m), Makalu (8,475m), Lhotse ( 8,383m), Pumori (7,145m), Nuptse (7,879m), Ama Dablam (6,856m) and more.

Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu, welcome and transfer to the hotel.
Meet with your guide. Depending on the composition of your group, the departure for Ramechhap Airport can be arranged for 2:00 pm to spend the night there in a lodge.
If leaving for Ramechap on the same day as your flight, depart by night shuttle at 03: 00 am for Ramechhap Airport, a 4-5 hr drive. The early morning flight from Ramechhap to Lukla offers a panoramic view of the eastern Himalayas; Langtang, Gauri, Shanker, Numbur, Manglungtse, and finally Everest appears during the short flight. In Lukla (2,700 m), we meet with the Sherpas awaiting our arrival with all the equipment. The trek begins with a short descent to the Dudh Khosi Valley. From the village of Chaunrikarka (2,621 m), the trail leads us north through small Sherpa villages where wheat, potatoes, corn and vegetables are grown. A wooden, suspension bridge takes us across the Dudh Koshi River.
Ascent - : 250 meters
The day begins with a hike along the Dudh-Kosi River and the trail climbs gently. We make several river crossings to reach Jorsale (2,805 m). From there we start a steep climb towards Namche Bazaar. In only half an hour we get our first view of Everest. Arriving early in Namche (3,440m) gives us the advantage of having time to discover what Namche is all about and meet with the local Sherpas. Some Tibetan shops and traders sell jewelry and handicrafts from Tibet. Once a week, a large number of people gather for a special market set up for local farmers from the surrounding area to sell wheat, corn, millet, etc.
Ascent + 900 m
A day of acclimatization and rest in Namche.
Above Namche Bazaar, we walk along a gently sloping trail on the mountainside heading towards Mong Pass, with superb views of Ama-Dablam and Kantega, two of Nepal’s most spectacular peaks. The trail then descends to Phortse-Tenga (3,600 m) along Dudh Koshi (the Milky River) followed by an uphill path till Phortse village (3,800 m). This is a perfect hike for acclimatization.
The day begins with a slow and steady climb up the Khumbu Valley to Pangboche with a background dominated by Ama-Dablam. For 1 ½ hours we follow the Inija Khola (river) through Shomare, and then the Lobuche Khola to Pheriche.
We have an easy walk for an hour, then the trail makes a gentle climb to Thokla (4,620 m), and we go on to the Thokla Pass (4,830 m), where many chortens (stupas) remind you of the deceased on Everest expeditions. The path is rocky until Lobuche.
Following the Khumbu glacier, the climb is relatively easy until Gorakshep. We check into a lodge, rest and go for an afternoon (optional) excursion to Everest Base Camp and back.
Descent - 250 m
Early morning we leave for Kala Patthar (5,545 m) to enjoy good views. We find ourselves in the center of a huge amphitheater surrounded by the highest and most famous summits of the world; a humbling sight that will stay etched in your mind forever. Then we descend to Dingboche.
We go downhill to Pangboche where we find one of the oldest gompas (monastery) of Nepal. We walk through a forest and several villages on the way down to Tengboche, the spiritual heart of Khumbu. Magnificent site dominated by the giant peak Ama-Dablam as a backdrop.
A long descent to Dudh Koshi (Milky River) and hike up to Sanasa before stopping for lunch at Namche. Then in the afternoon walk down to Monjo village, where we overnight.
We walk through the forest of Gumila and finally reach Lukla
This morning, we catch a flight back to Ramechhap and drive to Kathmandu. Stop for lunch on the way. If weather permits, we get to see the great Himalayan chain of mountains. Check-in at your hotel.
