Annapurna Base Camp Trek
1 200,00 €
One of the most popular treks in Nepal, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, better known as the ABC Trek, draws quite a crowd. Starting from the Pokhara Valley, the trek takes you through amazing landscapes, rhododendron forests, lush bamboo groves, and terraced hillsides right up to the pristine high mountains.
The Base Camp at the foot of the Annapurna massif is reached after traversing through a rapidly changing landscape as you climb higher and higher from the rich green valley shrouded in seasonal vegetation to the arid landscape of the high mountains. The Annapurna Sanctuary is a gigantic arena facing giant peaks in proximity. 4,130 m above sea level, the sanctuary enjoys a spectacular 360 view of 13 peaks that make up the Annapurna massif. This is the highlight of the trek. But even from Day One of the trek, the great peaks, Machapuchare (6,993m), the Annapurna III (7,555m), the Annapurna II (7,937m) and the Annapurna IV (7,525m) keep coming into view, building up excitement as the trek progresses.

FAQ
In the heart of the mountains, the Annapurna Sanctuary forms a spectacular natural cirque, encircled by a dozen majestic peaks including Annapurna I (8,091 m), Machhapuchhare (6,993 m) and Annapurna South (7,219 m). It is one of the few places in the Himalaya where you can be completely immersed in the high mountains while surrounded by peaks over 7,000 metres. Arriving at Annapurna Base Camp, perched at 4,130 metres, is a highlight of the trek, between wonder, silence and grandeur.
This trek offers a gradual journey through the Himalayan vegetation zones, from the cultivated foothills to the eternal snows. You pass through traditional Gurung villages and terraced rice fields, then lush bamboo and rhododendron forests. Little by little, vegetation gives way to the moraines and sparkling glaciers of the sanctuary. This diversity makes the trek a complete experience, visually rich and truly exotic, with each day bringing a new atmosphere.
This circuit is ideal for anyone wishing to experience the high mountains without setting off for several weeks. In just 14 days in total, the trek reaches the heart of the Himalaya, with gradual height gain and well-balanced stages. Accessible without technical equipment, the route requires good physical fitness but remains achievable for many hikers. The Annapurna Sanctuary is one of the best gateways to the great Himalayan treks.
Among the highlights of the Annapurna Base Camp trek, the homestay night in Lwang remains unforgettable. This preserved and welcoming Gurung village perched in the hills offers a rare immersion in the daily life of local people. You share their meals, discover their customs and sleep under their roof, far from tourist standards. A precious human interlude in this high-altitude journey, a direct contact with Nepalese culture, simple, generous and deeply rooted in the mountains.
